Overview
Consuming the right dietary intake is key to human nutrition. The saying “You are what you eat” underscores the profound impact of diet on health and well-being.
In growing children, excessive sugar intake and deficient micronutrient consumption are serious issues, prevalent not only in low-income Asian countries but also in middle to high-income Asian countries*
According to research, excessive consumption of sugary foods in growing children is a major factor that contributes to overweight, obesity, and tooth decay. Micronutrient intake is particularly crucial at every stage of life. Prolonged micronutrient deficiency can have long-term adverse effects on children, making them more susceptible to illnesses, infections, and potentially, weakened immune systems**
To address these two major concerns, the new and improved Morinaga Chil-kid has been scientifically formulated with improvements to eliminate Sucrose and to enhance micronutrients, including Calcium and Vitamin D.
The National Health and Morbidity Survey reports*** that 21.3% of Malaysian children under five experience nutritional challenges that have become a major public health concern. In terms of micronutrients, over 50% of Malaysian children do not meet the Malaysian Recommended Nutrient Intake (RNI) for Calcium and Vitamin D. This provides a more comprehensive and balanced nutritional support for children, laying a solid foundation for their healthy future.
